Culture and the creative sectors are among the most dynamic sectors in Europe. Its yearly revenue of 535.9 billion Euros make the creative and cultural industry one of the most important business segments, providing 4.2% of the total GDP in Europe. It is strongly relying on local labour force and attracts many young people: about 19 percent of people employed in the field of culture are less than 30 years old. Even in the hardest years of the economic crisis, the number of employees in the cultural sector could increase 0.7 percent. This is the reason why Nepker believes that it is necessary to discuss the future of Europe and its development potentials during a three-day programme; to answer the challenges of the economic crisis using culture and arts of the European nations.
